by the way, did you get any poison oak from our ride in Tecolote a few weeks ago? I sure did on both legs and my ski boots are rubbing the hell out of it. Driving me nuts.

Wow, nice first road ride. Looks like you hit Soledad on the way back to OB.

went out and back to point loma first and then clockwise - soledad was early in the ride and the more gentle climb from the south side

Rookie mistake. Rather than buy a new road bike to fit your crappy road commute, you needed to buy a new house in a location that provided a dirt commute.

this decision was so much easier than giving up my happy renter existence - oh wait, there are other places to rent out there

incidentally, when the roof leaked and the water came down dripping in the living room I took a vid of it and send it to my landlady - her response: if you want to leave give me thirty days notice

as you say robo, rookie mistake

"Now that I know there are places to ride when conditions are wet (in and out of your backdoor :D ) I wont need to buy a road bike now Basil....thanks!".

Ask her if she's heard of the implied warranty of habitability. -- see note 139.

You have only been on a road bike once (albeit for a long ride) I hope your testicles have not shrunken so much that you did not immediately file a written complaint. If you have a valid complaint see Canaan's post (video tape of a roof leak) she cannot retaliate against you, ie. raise the rent or evict you for a certian period of time. Please don't let her get away with this I hate how many people have stories like this. On the other hand it makes all of the renters I have had really appreciative. Good luck.
