It's been not quite two years since I purchased my first full-suspension bike, and over the last year-and-a-half I've found myself riding my road bike less and less. As a matter of fact, since January of 2009, I've done only 5 road rides.

I loved road biking for 13+ years, but I guess it's time to move on.

Enough back story: Bike -- $1,100; Everything else (rollers; trainer; FSA Gossamer 53/39 crankset; helmet; shoes; computer) -- $200.

Bike photo and details are set out below:

Fuji Team (2008)

Fork: Carbon (aluminum steerer)
Shifters: Shimano 105
Front derailleur: Shimano 105
Rear derailleur: Shimano Ultegra
Brakes: Cane Creek SCR-3
Crankset: FSA Gossamer Compact (50/34)
BB: FSA MegaExo
Cassette: 12-25 (10 speed)
Seat post: Weyless Team Carbon
Saddle: Forte' Pro SLX
Wheel set: Shimano WH-R500

LOL -- it's all your fault buddy. You thought that first ride at Cuyamaca was harmless, didn't you? Well just look what it led to . . . .

Someone, somewhere, told me that size does matter.

Did I miss it?

I take full credit...or should it be, responsibility...for your conversion to dirt. You've taken to it like Paris Hilton to coke.

I guess a proposed road ride is off tomorrow? Definitely dirt on Monday.

You didn't miss it -- I forgot to include it in the original post. It's a 58 cm, but Fuji frames seem to run kind of small -- I'm 6'0" and my first Fuji, which was a 56 cm, felt a little bit undersized at the top tube.

Yep -- I gave getting the road bike back into my regular riding rotation the ol' college try, but it just didn't work out. You and I are opposite sides of the same coin: longtime dedicated roadie to mtb'r v. longtime dedicated mtb'r to roadie.

I didn't mean that as a jab at Rick; more as just a statement of fact. Given how I addicted I was to road riding at one time in my life, I completely understand why Rick is logging the number of road miles he is. You get to a point where you kind of enjoy the suffering . . . .

I wasnt laughing because I thought you were making fun of him, I think its funny that you both flipped sides like that. Even if I was, Rick is a big boy I know he can handle some humor. So Rick, when you are you going to start parting out a few of the MTB's ? :)

Hey Eric! How about a "goodbye to your baby" ride, in the morning?
