I think I've left the road also; my carbon road bike with carbon seatpost and handlebar with the fancy wheelset, hangs on the wall and comes down every now and then for a home trainer spin and back on the wall. It's really sad.
Whanna ride?
Road or dirt?
DIRT :thumbsup:
Good luck with the sale.

I just did the opposite. Got a road bike six weeks ago and haven't ridden the MTB since. Good luck with the sale Eric.

To me, the road and mtb compliment each other in so many ways that I couldn't give up either. The fitness gained from the road bike is almost impossible to get from mountain biking alone(I will respond to any naysayers in advance, whatever), and the bike handling skills and leg strength(can be gained from the road, but you have to specifically target it) gained from the mtb are some things that "road only" riders may never have. Any way you slice it, riding bikes is cool. I just like to ride pavement and dirt, gasp, sometimes on the same day. To the OP, sorry your calling it quits. Maybe one day you'll see the error of your ways.

There are only so many days in a week and hours in a day. The sad thing is, I still enjoy road riding but don't have time to do both road riding and mountain bike riding. I have a wife and four kids and don't have a job I can commute to by bicycle. I'm not willing to cut back on my mountain bike rides, and I don't even ride that as much as I would like to. I can either spend time with the living, breathing members of my family or I can go for road ride -- for me the choice is pretty easy.

A Scott Speedster off craigslist for cheap. aluminum frame, 105 components, ok wheels, all in all a great starter for $700.

I hear what your sayin' about only so much time in a day. Riding is great but family is the greatest. With four kids, I don't know how you find anytime for yourself its hard enough with two.

See you on the trails or on the road going by the trails!

Canaan, haven't seen you on the trails since I saw you climbing with the Bear Bell at spring canyon. doing a 43 mile road ride on Monday from Mira Mesa to Carlsbad. You should use your road bike one last time. :thumbsup:

Just got on the dirt a few months ago and my road bikes were collecting dust. Just started riding on the road again and i must say the bike handling skills are up because of the dirt. I also have more power. I guess i just have to split my time on the dirt and road! My TT bike is way more fun than my road bike though!

For Sale: 2009 Specialized Tarmac Comp 56cm. Any takers?

Well, she's gone . . . .

Trainer, rollers, crankset/bottom bracket and shoes are all that remain. Hit me up if you're interested:

Trainer: $25;
Rollers: $50;
Crankset/bottom bracket (FSA Gossamer 53/19; FSA MegaExo): $75; and
Shoes: Nike 3-strap w/carbon fiber sole (mens size 10): $25

My bike is sold, but I heard that someone else on the board has a 2009 56 cm Specialized Tarmac Comp for sale.
