Mark Cavendish (in the yellow and black kit) is known as the best sprinter in the cycling world. Too bad he's wild and doesn't know how to stay in his own lane.

Don't know that that crash was caused anything other than normal jostling on the run in. What's crazy is how his wheel popped back to normal a moment later . . . .

Watch Houseler's head hit the street, and Boonan's glasses explode. He would be dead five years ago without the mandatory helmet rule. Seems dumb that the riders wouldn't wear them without a rule. That wheel is beyond tacoed. I think Cavendish has already had a bad crash earlier this year. IMO he's a dick. Bummer that Boonan got caught up in that.

That's not normal jostling. Cavendish abruptly altered his line to shut down Ciolek. Haussler did the same, but more subtle. Official's determined Cavendish's action to be illegal. They penalized and fined him.

Once Cavendish moved right to pass Ciolek, he is supposed to ride a line parallel to the barriers to the finish. There is plenty of space on his right; he has no reason to cut back left.

Cavendish is a punk. That was a potentially deadly crash- Housler's head bouncing off the concrete - nasty.

Think I'll go ride my mountain bike!

"Abruptly?" I don't think so. He deviated from his line, but Haussler did a bit too. I'm sure Cavendish did it to gain an advantage, but Haussler could have avoided the contact and shares fault. I've seen a lot worse and I'm sure you have too. Personally, I like Cavendish (but then again, I liked Robbie McEwen, too).

I hate road rash. It's probably why I MTB and ride my motorcycles in full suits/leathers.

Ouch, that was a bad ass slide though, props on that. Should he have low-sided it instead?
