I officially stepped into the dark side yesterday, my wheel set came yesterday morning, and I put tires on and went for a ride. It's kinda cool how fast you can go on those skinny tires. I climbed up Sycamore Canyon Road to the Park gate which always has me huffing and puffing when I get to the top on the MTB bike, the road bike made it seem easy (so I did it twice). I added up the totals of what I have in it and came up with just under $800. 18.0lbs. And a sexy Italian paint job. before you guys bust my chops over the Mt. cassette, I have a 12-25 road cassette on order. I feel like eating some kind of ini food, like linguine, or zucchini. Like Dave Stollers dad said, "That's Idy food Evelyn, I want some American food; I want some French Fries"

I swear I wil never, ever, ever, get so into the road thing that I will shave places other than my face. And if I do, I will take a punch in the arm from every dirt treader.

One of these days I'll venture into the dark side... maybe.

Nice bike! best thing about road biking leave from your home or office.I'm road biking during the week & mtb on weekends due to time constraints. It for sure makes mtb easier for me.

90% was bought on E-Bay. It has taken a while to get everything together.

It does look good. I built my bike in under $1500. I managed to get bling parts for cheap though. Glad for CL.

Welcome to the bright side!!! I too built my roadie/TT bike on EBay, that is the greatest place on net. My wife is starting to think I am cheating on her with EBay. I spend just as much time on EBay as I have with her (and now DT is becoming the new girl on the side). I built my bike for just around $1300. I priced it out with all the components I have (and I have some nice parts) and it would have cost me $3300 plus. That and a few things on Craigslist. Sometimes you can get some real steals from there. You just have to get lucky though.

LOL thats how I get forgiveness. When my girl said WTF you spent $1100 on a mountain bike!?!?!?!? I just show her what the parts cost new and that its a $3000 bike. Shes Ms. thrifty shopper so she thinks of the $1900 saved over the $1100 spent
