As a recovering roadie, I am curious what the San Diego MTB community's opinion of Lance Armstrong is.

Three choices:
1) Pulling for him in 2009 TdF;
2) Can't stand the guy; or
3) Don't give a rat's ass.

So as not to skew the results of this highly scientific study, I'll keep my own opinion to myself.

whos lance armstrong? just kidding. I guess if I had to chose one it would be #3, but would also give him props for his accomplishments. That doesnt qualify as "pulling for him in the tdf"

He is my hero, no really. I would like to see him win the TDF again but I just don't see it happening.

No. 1. The best that ever did it. Regardless of what you think about Lance as a person or a competitor, his contributions to the fight against cancer are unparalleled. Let the haterz hate!

#1. Big fan of Lance and the Tour de France. However, I have a hard time believing he did it all clean.

#1. I definitely would give a rat's ass. In fact, I have given many rat's asses out over the years. Lance is cool to mtn bikers because of thses facts. Chris Carmichael credits lances time on dirt to be the factor that improved his pedal stroke enough to win. Its a fact that roadies cant deny that dirt riders have more efficient pedaling since we are more aware of improper position/stroke since our tires will slip if were not rightly situated. Also, lance makes time to race on dirt. I think he was even nice enough to throw it at the end so as to not rub it in mtn bikers faces that he can whip us there too. agree or not, i think that was classy. but if you think lance was clean during those 7 years, your wrong. they caught him and then us media dropped it. then the danish "third party" absolved him and it was dropped again. I think what happened was that they nailed him real good but the french were convinced that nailing lance would be too detremental to the sport so they agreed to let him off the hook, but with a "you americans arent off the hook-and set up floyd to be the patsy so france can make theyre point without hurting the sport in the way it wouldve if lance had been nailed. i know i contradict myself by saying i like lance but i think he doped. and to that i have no answer-oh and when he cut the course, how come he wasnt penalized. or was he?
