"Contador was riding behind Lance's wheel for some time up the hill. Likely sizing him up before pulling the trigger.

It took a lot of class, and cunning, to not run with Contador. But I don't think Lance, or anyone else, could have matched Contador's last km. Had Lance tried, and failed, I think he may have looked more desperate than cool and classy (which he has become over the years).

Contador may have thrown down the gauntlet, but the game is far from over."

Agreed -- Contador's got great form and I don't think Armstrong could have matched his acceleration. I hope things are still close at the end for the all the GC contenders, and not just between the Astana riders. The stage up Ventoux could be epic.

Wiggins and CVdV also had a great day. This is the best TdF in years.

Yup, high drama.

Kinda liked the way this guy upset the apple barrel in '06. A shame for the insanity that followed. Anyone know if he'll be back after the suspension?

Wonder what the talk around the dinner table will be like tonight for Team Astana?

Yeah, me too. Apparently Contador went off the reservation.

LOL!

This may answer the earlier question as to who the domestiques might be pulling for if the team splits in the mountains.

Hope so anyway.
