The best racing series in the county is starting next week! Apparently I'm an alcohol-buring rider (I guess they know about my beer habit).

http://www.sdvelodrome.com/Home/racing

Tuesday Night Racing for 2009 starts on April 7th and 6:30pm
We have the best, most relaxed and enjoyable weekly racing anywhere in the world. Be there at the start of the season and don't get left behind as riders get up to speed over the first few weeks.

There is no charge for spectators, so come on out and watch some exciting no brakes racing!
This years' weekly racing started on April 7th and runs every Tuesday through September.
Tuesday night Racing starts at 6:30 PM and racing is only $5 for velodrome members/$10 for non-members. No racing license is required, and races are broken down by category:
C- 92 Octane (beginners)

B - Alcohol-burning riders (intermediate)

Aces - Top Fuel (fast fast fast)

Racers are mostly self categorized, but the officials and the SDVA reserve the right to restrict the categories and riders at their sole discretion.

All racers must have completed the beginning track class AND the new required safety class, or have proof of prior velodrome experience.

Racers must fill out and SDVA release one per year, and must fill out an ATRA waiver for every event. Save time by printing them out and bringing them with you!

Lots of fun. Some cobweb related sketchiness (myself included). Beer.

I took a flyer in the 5 mile scratch race with 3 laps to go and the field blew by me on the back stretch of the final lap.

Y'all are missing out on some good racing.

That trip to UT/CO didn't seem to help me. I'm doing worse in races since I got back.

I need something to do during the week when I get back, I am going to come check this out. Hell maybe this could be the reason to keep my Langster.
