San Diego Cyclo-Vets Omnium is coming this weekend.
TT Friday
Road Race Saturday
Criterium Sunday

I'd probably not get any points for the TT, I would get annihilated in the road race on the Boulevard RR course, so I only signed up for the Criterium, which only has one corner and then a long sweeping bend for the rest of the course. Hopefully I can hang on and not get dropped this time.

I accomplished my goal. I was with the pack until the bell, then I drifted off the back since I wasn't going to contest the sprint. Guys in Cat 5 still felt the need to brake through the "corner." In the Pro/1/2 race (there really weren't any pro teams there) they pedaled straight through the corner. I spent the first couple of laps near the front, but then I went back because I'm a wheelsucker to the max. I found that after the downhill sweeping turn, the field would slow dramatically. I would coast and I still would have a huge speed differential with the field, so later I let a big gap open before the downhill and just coasted back into the field on the back stretch. I much more comfortable in the field with my road bike. All was good!

Nice!
How long do these races/heats last? I think I would be coughing up a lung afler a couple minutes.

'crits are usually 20-30 minutes + a few laps. If you really wanna go for vomit, try a dirt crit (AKA short track); they friggin' HURT.

Rim Nordic has a Stage Race coming up this summer with a hill climb, dirt crit and XC race all in one weekend.

Usually, Cat 5 crits are usually 30 minutes. This one was 45 minutes on my clock, but it was supposed to be 40 minutes.
