It's going to be my first race of the season, an industrial park criterium in Mira Mesa.

Eric was right. Pukefest. I DNFed. Pulled myself after nearly completing four laps.
1st lap. This is okay. I think I can hang.
2nd lap. Whoa. That little hill to the finish is a little hard.
3rd lap. Gasp! That f*@#$ing hill to the finish sucks! (Gap forms in front of me)
4th lap. "I'm out." I say to the official. Walk up the hill.

My HR hit 187 bpm. Highest I had seen it before then was 181 bpm. I actually need to get more consistent with the training.

Atleast you gave it a go. I showed up for the last lap of the Cat 5 race and stuck around for the Cat 4. It was a good size group and turn out.

But the pace is what is keeping me from Road racing right now. I have more of a chance in the dirt than on the tarmac.
