So, a few months ago I decided I was getting lazy (shuttling and such) and needed to set a big cycling-related goal. Though I mainly mtb these days I've done a bunch of road riding in the past and the Belgian Waffle Ride (130 miles of pavement and fire road and 10,000+ ft. of climbing in N. County) sounded like the masochistic target I was looking for. Ride is next spring.

Anywho, my long weekend rides, right now, are ~50 miles with 3000 ft of climbing at 15-16 mph solo. This is beyond my normal road riding partner's interest and I'm looking for others that are doing similar rides. Looking to slowly increase mileage and climbing over the next 9 months.

I will generally be riding Sat mornings in the foreseeable future. I'm in N. County but if any S. County folk want to ride I'm interested in riding down that way as well. Post up here or pm me if you want to join.

Cheers,
Aaron

Hmm... I think I may be interested (I know how non-committal that sounds). I will have time on Saturdays in a few weeks. Keep me posted please.

I am available sat or sunday mornings when in town. I would be up for a long mtb or road ride. Pace for me is typically 16 to 18 but I'm flexible. I'm in Carlsbad. Or if you want to put in a long mtb let me know.

Thanx for the replies.

This Sat I'll be riding from Carmel Valley. Girlfriend's B-day is Fri so it'll be a mid morning start from near I-5 and 56. Probably ride out to Poway, loop around near Lake Poway, then head west along the fire road on the north side of Hodges, back to CV through RSF. 45-55 miles depending on exact route.

I'll regularly post up my plans for each Sat by Wed.

Of course pm me if you've got something going on.

Docklobster,
My long rides are focused on road but I will be mixing those up with long mtb rides. As temps cool to the east I'll definitely be putting in some miles up there.

I ride on Saturday mornings with the Trek Century Training group. We start at different locations every weekend and add 5 miles to the distance each ride. This is week 4 so the schedule is 35 miles, but we usually add on miles. Great group of folks.
