"That was my thought exactly. It's at the beginning, so the leaders won't be going for it (Cole Grade road may be best for that), but it does count for KOM points. Also, you could park farther away and maybe get in a MTB ride at Hodges beforehand over to the route via Hodges Mule Hill trail."

I will be more than likely riding out Mule Hill to the bottom of the Highland Valley climb and getting back into esco for the finish. Will they be doing a couple of circuits around esco for the finish?

I want to check out what they are calling "Lifestyle Festival" but is only between 1:00 to 5:00pm, is there anything else to see earlier? I have something else in the afternoon and can't stay that late

Do you know if they'll have any expo type of event at the start also?

Consider this an open invitation to all DT'ers.
I live at the base of LC and I'm planning on riding to the start in RB (leaving at 8 ). I wanted to checkout all the "lifestyle events", go to the meet-n-greets, score some swag, then watch the start. After that, make my way to Esco. We can hit Hodges on the way to the finish, or just stop and have some lunch and drink beer all day.

So, park at my house, enjoy a day on the bike, score lots of swag.

I'll be one of the course marshals in Escondido.

For those that are going to Escondido, where's a good place to park? We were thinking about bringing our bikes and parking the car a bit far out, and riding in and then parking the bikes at the bike valet.

I'm thinkin' about parking at Hodges,
riding east, just past the spillway the
trail runs into Highland Valley.
The peloton should fly by a little after
noon.
Will that work........................

I was up on Grand Ave in Esco for work today and things are already in the works ....they were repaving a section of the street and signs were up. I think parking is going to be a total cluster and would recommend parking on the outer limits and riding in. I have also heard that the Coaster will be running non-stop to shuttle people in from the coast so that may be an option for some. Looks like it will be a great day!

My office is on Grand Ave and we have gated and locked parking for about 5 cars.

If you're looking for a place to park in Escondido, shoot me a PM and I'll get back to you with details.

Ben, I'm interested in meeting up with you. I live in RB and could meet you on your way to the start.

You have PM.
