A couple of us have crossed over to the dark side and joined the skinny tire riding, fat body lycra wearing crowd.

Any good road ride recommendations that start and end in the Mission Valley area? Already doing Mission Gorge Rd. over to Santee and know about Murphy Cyn/Ruffin Rd to Kearny Villa Rd. and up to Miramar Rd.

Doing most of the rides at night and am looking for something in the 20-25 mile range with some climbing. Weekends are still for the knobby tires but will probably start alternating and hit up the Jamul/Honey Springs/Lyons Valley Rd. rides at some point this summer.

Thanks.

Just did that Honey Springs/Lyon Valley ride last Saturday. Brutal climb!

Head west using Camino del Rio North and the backside of Fashion Valley until you get past the mall, and then take Friars Road to the San Diego River bike path. From there you can head south out to the lighthouse or north up to La Jolla.

From the subject line, I was hoping perhaps you'd bought some of 325racer's merchandise. But this..., this may be worse.

Don't worry, I'm still a mountain biker at heart. I'd give up the road bike first.

For a while most of my rides have been road at night on the MTB. I've lost my nerve to ride the trails at night solo like I used to so...gotta try to stay in some sort of shape other than round.

Thanks for the info Canaan, I'm going to give it a try in both directions.
