The ride was fun. It was irritating getting stuck behind slow people/pacelines. I was hauling ass whenever I got irritated. Dropped the hammer and was cruising at 26-28 mph at points passing pacelines. My friend would hop on pacelines to catch up to me.
So all in all, I'm faster on flats than my friend, but he punishes me on climbs that are > 4% grade (I weigh 195, he weighs 155). Next time I do StP I'll do it in one day to avoid slow people.

Here are some pictures from the ride/vacation.

Big rooster. That's right, I took the high road...

I rode 213 miles and all I got was this. Not even a free t-shirt.

We got picked for the front of the line to cross the Lewis and Clark bridge

Nasty climb when you're tired. My friend left me in the dust. He's 150 lbs. I only got passed by one person and was third up the bridge.

Tanlines of peace.

During a paceline my friend was following too close behind. The paceline slowed and he didn't react quickly enough. His front wheel hit my right seatstay and he flew over his handlebars into
the side of the road. Luckily he landed on the soft dirt and only had a minor bruise on his hand. This was on mile 66. No damage on his bike.

My right seatstay. Poor carbon.

I rode 166 miles with it like this. It's definitely softer than the left seatstay. I'm taking it to the local carbon fiber guy to see how much it will be to repair.

Thanks, man! The hardest part was avoiding the newbie riders that would veer without warning.

Too many hipsters. They all had punchable faces. The temperature was erratic. One minute it was raining, the next it was windy, and then it was 90 degrees and sunny. I liked it, but could not live there for that reason. Also, the people seem sadder.

Nice work. My friend Bruce did StP last year and did the one day version. He was cooked at the end but elated. So much so he now has an StP sticker on his road bike frame. Quite an accomplishment Carloswac!
