My condolences to the family.

Good thing this is not Afghanistan, b/c we believe an eye for an eye. People often kill family of the one who caused the original death to even things out.

Dammit I hate these stories! Man is just riding his bike on a beautiful Sunday morning...

Condolences and prayers to his family.

unbelievable. El Camino is so wide there and the bike lane is huge. There is already a white bicycle chained up to a telephone pole there as a memorial. I saw it on my way to work this morning. sad. :(

Very sad story and too close to home since he was just like me, living in Carlsbad with three kids, mid 40s. Saw the memorial and honestly it has me thinking twice about the road bike now. Incredible that you can be doing everything right and still be taken out like that.

That's exactly why I stopped road riding. If I get hurt, I'd prefer it was in some way my fault.
