Might as well blow all his money on cool stuff before the repo man comes to take it all away.

He may be taking advantage of homestead protection laws by putting more of his dough in his primary residence. Curious as to how who the record title owner will be, him, a trust, an LLP, a corp... The games are just beginning.

Good call -- this from Wiki:

Immunity from forced sale

Different jurisdictions provide different degrees of protection under homestead exemption laws. Some only protect property up to a certain value, while others are limited by acreage limitations. If homesteads exceeds these limits creditors may still force the sale while the homesteader may keep a certain amount of the proceeds of the sale.

California - Protects up to $75,000 for single people, $100,000 for married couples, and $175,000 for people over 65 or legally disabled.

Texas, Florida, Iowa, South Dakota, Kansas, and Oklahoma have some of the broadest homestead protections in the U.S., in terms of the value of property that can be protected.

Texas's homestead exemption has no dollar value limit and has a 10 acres (4.0 hectares) exemption limit for homesteads inside of a municipality (urban homestead) and 100 acres (40 hectares) for those outside of a municipality (rural homestead). The rural acre allotment is doubled for a family: 200 acres (81 hectares) can be shielded from creditors in Texas for a rural homestead.
(emphasis added).

What a prick . . . .

Meh. I have a hard time hating the guy for protecting himself. For other things, sure.

Timing is everything. Read in the paper the DOJ has filed suit against him seeking restitution for the money given to him while on postal service.

Every Second Counts! ha

While Lance may be a prick he is also a champion. They can take away his tours, but he still won them.

His adversary was the drug tests they had at the time and he beat those (mostly), just as he beat Ulrich and Vinno, and the other dopers on the podium.

With this move, he is beating the system. Go Lance!

Was he right or wrong? I'm simply too ignorant and with out the life experience to pass that kind of judgement.

I believe cheating is wrong, but Im going to leave it to history to decide if what he did will be considered cheating. I dont think the world is that simple.

Feel free to disagree, you may change my mind.

Its :drunk:  time boys!

Deep down we all knew something wasn't right, but we wanted to believe in the underdog. Especially an underdog who beat cancer, then was attacked by the French. What has always pissed off the American public is that he LIED and pretended to be Superman, all along being a super fraud.

D.K. -- I know this a simplistic analysis, but some things really are black and white. Lance cheated . . . it's cheating if you break the rules to gain an advantage, and he clearly did that.

Just watched the latest Lance film, a compelling documentary called "Stop at Nothing", on Showtime. Pretty much paints a picture of a vindictive lying sociopath, told by the former friends he put through hell for telling the truth.

It seems the lens of history will not focus on his wins, but rather his demons.

If the lens is tightly focused, you miss the big picture. This was the first I had directly heard the freely expressed words of Frankie & Betsy Andreu, LeMond, Hamilton, Emma O'Reilly and others whose lives and livelihoods he directly and negatively affected by threats and character assassination in his attempt to keep the lie invincible.

I dislike Lance for his disgusting behavior off the bike. He will never be able to live that down / explain it away.

On the bike, he was the best of the best.
