WOW! THAT'S CRAZY!
I don't know what it is about the bay area haters but they HATE cyclist up there! I was stationed up there in Concord for 4 years, cyclist were getting taken out all the time. I remember one time a lady took out a whole road racing team from one of the Universities up there. If my memory serves me correctly I believe she killed 3 of them and severely injured 9? It was a case of road rage too.

Not all that 'lol' though...

I ride the road the vast majority of my miles now a days and some people just think you only need a few inches of the road. But, to be honest, the vast majority give you room. The big trucks (guys that make their living driving) have even blocked traffic for me heading into tight corners.
