That's one of my regular grunts, usually over lunchtime, I try to do it once every couple weeks to gauge myself. Let me know if you want to ride it. It's a bitch but not as bad as Via Capri, which is way longer and I think steeper in spots.



We ride it every Wednesday at lunch.
Leave/return from/to Palomar Airport Road an El Camino Real.

I run a compact and have used both a 28 and a 25 on the rear cassette. The 28 definately helps, especially on the steeper sections of via capri and at the top of double peak. Double peak is where I often do intervals, I think from the bottom of san elijo to double peak it is a longer ride than via capri - both are tough climbs if you are trying to set KOM's or doing intervals. Have fun - go compact for hill climb workouts in so cal. Mt Baldy is also a blast and the finish is even more painful than double peak and via capri IMO.
