sorry, the clamp hole is 3/4" so you gonna need a 2 feet 3/4" pipe that runs horizontal to hold it. and also a 3/4" - 1" elbow on top. i just checked when i went back to LA this past weekend, also a 3/4" pipe dont fit a 1" pimpe may be 1/2" pipe would work but it might be woblly inside.

Put a blown tube over the wood. Keeps seatposts and frame clean and scratch free.

There's also this cool stuff that you can brush on (or Dip) that creates a nice, thick rubbery coating like the one on the ends of wrenches. You have to find it at places like Sears though. I dunno if Harbor Freight would have it. I think Home Depot may have it. I been wanting to get some to use as a chainstay protector for a long time, just havent yet.

For my stand I clamped 2 pieces of 2x4 together and drilled the big hole centered between them. Basically the same result. Also I used contact cement to glue cut-up patches of old mouse pad on them.
