Post subject:  help/advice on my lights

I have these old d battery powered niteriders laying in the garage that I have no mounts to and would like to convert to a rechargeable pack. Most importantly I would appreciate help with the battery pack as far as what I need and where to buy. The lights work fine but I don't want to have to replace six d batteries every few hours. I would also appreciate help with the mounts as gorilla taped them when I tested them.

I really want to start going on some night rides soon and hoping someone here can help me. Or to let me know if I'm better off just buying some of those lights from dealextreme. I tried attaching picture but apparently my file is invalid. One of the lights is just like the one on this link: http://deepseasherpa.com/forsale/niteri ... ogen_1.jpg. and the other one is similar but with only one bulb, but same battery pack. Thanks in advance.

I just received my magic shine knock off from Amazon for $36, how can you not buy one. It is bright...although the beam is rather narrow, The magic shine is clearly a better lite. I put the diffuser on it and that helped. it's not it's brightest and probably won't last as long but for $36 how can you not buy it, I'm going to run a magic shine with it just in case.

Yeah, buy some cheep-n-brite-fast delivery lites off the internet and hit the trail. Then, if you still want to fiddle around with your old ones for fun, check out some DIY threads:

Cheaper just to get a new set, it's okay to let go of the old to get new. Lumens are off the chart right now, the new lights are so much brighter.

Cool. Thanks guys. Looks like I'm buying some new lights. I know which ones to
get for my handlebars and looks like I will need a diffuser to make it more of a wide beam. But, which torch would you guys recommend for the helmet? Thanks again.
