A single car in the lower Nobel Canyon Parking lot when we arrived - just as I had hoped for. The dogs had a blast playing in the Snow. No biking here for a while I guess...

The dog with the light face looks like it's out of its mind with happiness in the second and third pics.

I just finished reading Inside of a Dog, which I wholeheartedly recommend to all the dog owners on the board. It was written by a woman who got her Ph.D. in (of all things) dog cognition from UCSD. She writes with the mind of a scientist and the heart of a dog lover. It'll change the way you think about dogs and make you love them even more, if that's possible.

She writes about the absolute joy that dogs get from playing with each other -- that joy is certainly evident in your pictures.

I can't wait until I get a dog of my own. I volunteered at the county shelter during college just so I could play with a bunch of different dogs. How much do you guys figure your dogs cost annually?

That's a good question.

I'd guess I spend 700.00-800.00 a year on my Ridgeback.

But occasionally it's much more. He broke a canine tooth a couple years ago.
That was about $5k for a root cannal and a crown.

Lovely pics !!

Nothing more relaxing than watching your dogs play , mine are 10 and 8 years old so the playing time is getting shorter.

How much they cost me a year ? Like with kids you do whatever it takes.
If you are planning on gettin a dog(s) realize it's for life and not just for Christmas .

I used to think like that - well, sort of ;)
When my dog had swallowed a half tennis ball wrapped around a stick last year, I did not think twice about delaying the new bike purchase to pay for surgery.
