Hey all, I had so much fun riding La Costa with you guys and gals I had to take my friend back this past weekend. We went yesterday and for his day to pan out we needed to get there early. We arrived at 7:15am right as another truck pulled in right ahead of us with a couple bikes. We were the only two trucks on the parking street and we were all there to bike super early. Very cool. It was just Shaun and I today though as these other dudes just showed up at the same time. Anyway, we planned on doing the same route we did the other weekend, but things happened and time work out for us to leave after one uphill and downhill run. It just wasn't Shaun's day though! He got scratched up and bruised everywhere! I'll let the pictures and videos speak for themselves.

Here we are starting our day...7am talk about foggy!!!

Tired dude??

Top of Nascar!!!! We made it! The humidity was killing us, our shirts were completely drenched by this point
Image

The first drop of Nascar. I lost speed rolling in(note to self always haul ass at the start and you'll make it easy) and almost went OTB but landed and rode into the bushes haha

Here's a small rock garden in Nascar, this is me

So when we got to the drop.....Funny and sad hahahah. I pulled to the left of the drop to check it out and Shaun came around the corner braking hard....he slowed right up the the edge of the drop and I thought he was just looking over but he actually didn't have enough braking power and.....yup you guessed it went sloooowly bike and all over the edge and fell on his right side!!! I couldn't but ask "what are you doing what happened hahahaha" and he just said he lost control and couldn't hold on! Poor dude, didn't even get to try the drop and he got messed up on it!
Image

That's a bad one! Get knee guards!
Image

Here I come cruising, I hit it twice after stalling twice haha. I made it no problem and felt comfortable too. Just let go of the brakes right before the drop and you'll have a great amount of speed to jump off the drop. Fun stuff!

Woo hoo! Can't wait to go back, Shaun is doing fine and upset he didn't hit the jump or go on the second DH run. We will go back soon, and have more fun. Thanks for showing me that sweet trail! See ya everybody!

MAN LOOD if you could fix this^^ I would greatly appreciate it! I really thought it would work....hmmm well I got the vids to work....pictures???

Those videos came out great Thrillride. I hope your friend heals well.
Yeah, its kind of a grunt to get up there...Its been a little while since it has been that foggy when I've ridden there but I remember the moisture running off my glasses on the descent like I needed windshield wipers or something.

THANKS LOOD! You sloth it was seriously WET. Riding along the trails on either side you would get drenched by the weeds with water drops all over them. So we literally were soaked at the top of Nascar. Coming down, not too bad, but the fog was intense to maneuver through! Good times good times, thanks again Lood your the man! PEACE

Who's ever wearing the shoes on the right, must have been hating it climbing up.

Nice TR, looks like a blast.

Yea seriously, ESPECIALLY considering he's borrowing the bike he's riding and it has clip ins! I don't know how he does it!

Ahh yes, I love the smell of La Costa in the morning. On a complete derail of this thread, who would be up for a LC Helloween night ride?
We could start from my house as the kids are T and T'ing and hit some urban stuff before our assault on the top.

Just a thought at this point.
