I went out to Calaveras again this am and had several encounters with LARGE rattlers just lying across the trail. One big fella didn't take to my approach and coiled up at me. He then slithered into the edge of the trail, just out of sight.

Had one of those " do I go there or not" moments. I decided to back up, get some velocity and go fast past my new, hidden and pissed off friend.

The wildlife is looking pretty robust out there.

I used to see a lot of snakes there when I was riding in the late afternoons and early evenings, but for the last few months all my rides have been morning rides and my encounters have been low. Nice pics and thanks for the TR Mike.
