Free bike part to whoever can figure out what the title is a reference to.

I didn't make it to Cuyamaca. I was on the 56 heading out there when my conscience got a hold of me. So I debated all the way to the 15. Where should I go? Helfin? I've never ridden there by myself, and I've always felt pressured to try to keep up, so it might be nice to go at my pace. But, it was too early. I don't think the parking lot opens until 8. What about Daley? I haven't been there since the incident at Burnt Mountain where I made sounds similar to the fat lady stomping grapes (if you don't know what this is, do a youtube search).

So, I went to Daley Ranch. The parking lot was already filling up at 7:40. Some guy was doing wheelies on a WallyMart bike -- that was a sight. So, I started climbing. I spent most of the time in my middle ring. There were a couple of spots that were too steep though.

I started the usual way and then passed the Coyote trail. I thought maybe that was the wrong way, but I quickly realized I was going the "wrong way", so I kept on going. I found the "Old Tank Trail" and grannied up that. Not very busy on that trail. I ran into a few spider webs. Cruised up and around the tank. Checked it out. Then continued up the switch back trail. (I walked most of it). Ran into a runner at the end of the single track and he suggested I keep going up. So I did. Man that was steep, but the views were great.

I ended up back where I was before and took the Coyote trail. I like that trail. Especially since I've been going the right way on it. I took a left instead of the usual right at the end which brought me back to the Sage trail and I went the Dixon Lake way back.

Probably not a lot of mileage, and not a whole lot of smileage, but it was good exercise.

Edit: here's the route
Creek Crossing
East Ridge
Sage
Old Tank through a connector not on the map. It was legal.
Up Stanley Peak
Down Stanley peak
Sage
Coyote Run
East Ridge
Sage
Caballo

Nice TR Ldood. Stanley Peak has some magnificant views although the climb is rugged, but worth it. Boo and I haven't ridden Daley in a long while either, I can't remember if its the grape stomping moan ride or one shortly after that, but either way its been awhile.
"Voyage of the Dirt Treader"?
I'm drawing a blank which isn't unusual, so all I can come up with at the moment is "Voyage to the Center of The Earth".
Glad you had a good ride dood, thanks for the pics and TR...

dood, you made it to the top of Stanley Peak! (did you say that already?) That is my Rocky Balboa hill. I try and make it up that w/o dabbing and have a few times. Eye of tiger.

Voyage of Da Beagle by Chuck Darwin?

I pedaled most of it whatever it was. There were a couple of techy spots behind the tower that I had to walk. I took several breaks along the way to make sure my heart rate wasn't too high.

The runners were impressed.

Do a google search for the title of this thread. You'll find your answers.
