Favorite Trails: I like single track
Some friends and I played hooky on Friday afternoon and went and rode San Juan. Wished I had worn long sleeves as the trail was a bit overgrown/plants drooping due to drought. Ripped my shorts climbing up to Cocktail from Viejo Tie. Didn't notice much till they got caught on the seat on the initial descent after Cocktail and nearly caused me to crash. Sorry no pics. I'll just leave you with the imagine of my chicken legs in threadbare spandex for the rest of the way down. Ed Flanders, " It's like I'm wearing nothing at all-nothing at all.."

The reason I posted a TR with no pics: We stopped in San Clemente on the way back for food at The Riders Club. Cool little burger joint near El Camino and Avenida de Pico. A little pricey but delicious. Only half dozen taps but a bit of everything represented (an Alesmith ale, Oskar Blues pilsner, Red Seal ale, an imperial stout, no IPA?). The service was quick and polite. Everyone agreed it'd be worth going back to.

Have a great weekend!

I rode SJT last weekend... yeah the day it was 90°+ by 10AM. I got a suntan too!

Trail in GREAT SHAPE, very little sand build up. Then hit the freeway and home to San Diego w/out eating. By the time I go home, I was ready to eat my own arm ( I was wee bit more than peckish). Burgers and beer for me next time!

I can't drive past San juan capistrano without stopping at El Campeon. Best mexican in Socal IMO and just off Ortega west of the freeway. No beer but they have killer fresh squeezed jugos. And there is a store next door with good selection of stone and belgian beers if you must have one.

Next time you ride SJT, give 'Bad to the Bone BBQ' which is just east of the freeway. Probably the best BBQ I've had in SoCal (it's no comparison to quality BBQ in Texas but you can't have it all).

That's what I'm talkin' about. Was there just last week - love that place.
