Had a fun solo ride at good ol' Calavera today. Not much book clubbing though. My mission was to ride lots of fun downward facing trails, get some good climbing cardio to access aforementioned downward facing trails, and get 'er done in not too much time.

After getting back to my truck, I pulled out my phone to check the data on my ride. I very rarely use any tracking/mapping apps, but it was on the agenda today nonetheless.

Yeeowza! I was pumped. 18.1 miles in less than two hours. Hot-diggity!

.....hey....wait a minute.. Why does it say 18.1 km? Aww shit... Yup. The settings were in kilometers. Damnit... only a tic over 11 miles. Wahwah.. Now I know why I don't use these damned apps. They're hard on fragile egos. :(

Oh well. It was still a lot of fun. :)

Oh you downward facing dog...looks like a good ride even if you are a metric slacker. You should try to catch Dirty Boo if you really want to rack up some Calavera miles, which all book clubbers feel are longer miles than elsewhere. I find 9-10 miles is a typical book club tour, and 11-12 longer than usual.

Definitely an evil ride my friend. Riding Calavera is somewhat like Sedona in the fact it makes you work hard for every mile. There is a bunch of tech & fun in all those miles too. Well done

Solid route, definitely chose some fun DH. That sunny creek climbs will always suck!

Nice route especially in that time. You hit all the highlights. I was vicariously riding ,and a few times walking, following the blue track on the map.

Stumbled upon that by accident...you know I'm no Strava fan.

Yeah, doesn't seem like much, but I checked the app I sometimes use, and that's about what it says I burn on a typical ride there, albeit for a third less mileage and half again as much time, including book clubbing...

Maybe set to Road Riding. I'm usually 1400+ calories for that amount of time, and the bike comp with heart rate connected usually agrees, but Ned is in much better shape, so probably uses less to do the same ride.
