Hopefully these guys get some real jail time. Especially if they are catching them and finding out they have other stolen goods and/or warrants.

We worked "bike theft stings" similar to this, though w/o all the new technology, twice while I was working in PB. We only did it for (2) weeks and caught a couple of bike thieves but actually did better with guys breaking into vehicles....which is another plague in PB. The biggest bike recovery I ever saw was over in Crown Point when a search warrant was served for narcotics. They found 750+ bikes in this guys backyard in a giant pile. This was in the 90's when most bikes were less than $200. He was just a tweaker looking to make a buck. I never did here how many bikes they found that they could prove were stolen.
