Rode Mills Peak Trail close to Downieville CA.
We shuttled the trail, 9 miles ride down.
The trail is more technical than Downieville Downhill, but it is lower speeds and not as steep.
We did see bear poop on the trail, but no bears were sighted.

Hey Abz, welcome back! Really love both of those trails. I can envision living in that area - so pretty. Haven't been in the winter though....

Hello Shanon and OldDogDan. Yeah, the area is very beautiful, and I would love to live up there too. I was looking at home prices, and they were going for about $100K. When I was up there last week, everyone was getting their snowmobiles ready for winter. The elevation at at Downieville is about 5,000 feet above sea level, so driving half an hour west would get you out of the snow. Finding a job is the problem, and social life, there are only about 100 people that live in that town.

I have been looking for jobs closer to Sacramento, that would put me about 2 hours away from Tahoe and Downieville. That would be nice, because Sac has cheap housing, large population to socialize with, and it's close to the mountains.
