Well we have a winner, and that's a bummer. Do you know the location where this ticket was issued. About the fence opening being closed I too have not seen it but I'm willing to bet it's done by a local . It has been my experience that when things are officially closed there would be no lack of signage

The ticket from 1/31/2015... not mine.

Is that a ticket or a warning since there wasn't a court date or fee listed on it

The way the statute is written, it's probably a warning. The first time you're caught, they have prove specific intent. But if you're told to stay out and are caught again, then you're SOL.

That's what I thought since there is no amount or notice to appear date. Basically a waste of everyone's time and money.
I wonder what it would be like to have the bikers and marines building ST trails together?

mtbchip-
What was the outcome of this ticket? Did he pay and if so, how much?
Did he have to appear? Any insight?

It's not a waste of the Marines' time -- if they try prosecuting you for the first time they stop you, they will likely lose; if they cite you and catch you again, it's a slam-dunk win.

Rider has not had any further contact since the ticket. As this develops I will post more. In the meantime I suggest just stay OUT of the Spring/Oak complex (I know, bummer, I like it too) and the WESTSIDE of Sycamore. Just not worth it.

From a friend who rides there three times a week
I was at the cul de sac at the end of Strathmore fri morning and the opening has been closed. I think they closed it because they are upgrading the wood power poles with much larger concrete poles and had heavy equipment there. They need access through locked gate for the heavy equipment so they don't want anybody parking at the cul de sac blocking the gate. Hopefully when they are finished with the work they will reopen the gate. For now it's closed with a sign reading "private property" no trespassing. We'll see. I went back to the hole in the fence which is still the same as always.

FYI, the hole in the fence is no more. It's been patched up. There is a way around the hole - or there was a few weeks ago when I was there. I suspect it won't be long until that get's patched up too though.

I saw a FB post last week from a rider saying Marines were standing at the sign at the north end of Spring Canyon.

Any more updates on the frequency of patrols? Tickets issued, etc.
