Spun through the Jungle Trail today. I wanted to get out there since the May Bernardo fire but never got around to it. Today was perfect except the 90% humidity and quickly climbing temperatures in the canyon.
Most of today's ride was in the burned area with a few exceptions. The far north/west end of the jungle trail was not burned which is nice to know. It is very apparent that not many people ride it currently. The steam crossing was a true jungle crossing. I had to push, pull, climb, and duck my way through the crossing.

I won't say the trail has fallen into disrepair but it receives little or no use right now.
The burn area ends/starts about half way through the trail. The reeds survived unscathed so it was a real contrast just feet off the trail in either direction.

Finally started the long slog back on the Lusardi trail. The climb out of the canyon to the Lusardi connector sucks more right now than the Arch. The fire trucks tore it up so now it almost all loose powder the entire climb. The entire canyon scorched and is a long ways from recovering. Maybe after some good rains it will bounce back?
