Hey guys! I just got back from oregon. Had a great trip and good weather and a couple of good riding days thrown in as well. Im running outta space on my computer so i don't quite have all my videos done yet, but i figured I'd post up what i got anyway.

The first place we stayed was at my wife's cousins house in Dallas, which, conveniently enough is only about 25 minutes from BlackRock. I arrived at the parking area and was the only person around for miles. So, with nobody to ask or follow, i kinda made my way through the trail system on my own. It's about a 2 mile ride to the top of the hill and from there 4 or 5 trails of varying difficulty drop into the forest and the fun begins.

At the bottom of this trail network is an area called "basic training". It's basically a bunch of obstacles scattered about various lines that allow you to build up skill, confidence, warm-up, etc. before taking on the main trails. Its also pretty damn fun….

On the way to the top after warming up at Basic Training, you run into some of the road gaps for the advanced trails. I don't have those photos/ videos yet but ill try to get one at least soon ( pretty huge, by the way).

I chose the "banzai downhill" trail as it is the most friendly to guys that don't ride like Kyle Strait, aka: ME. It was fun, flowy, ride arounds on all the obstacles if needed, wet, rooty, and beautiful. Did I mention FUN!!! Sorry about the strap by the way…. 1st time with the chesty.

I also rode Mt. Ashland a few days after this, i don't have this video edited yet either, but that place was also pretty fun. WAAAYYY faster than BlackRock. I rode the Super D course which i believe was 12 miles of down! Only $15 bucks to shuttle to the top thru Ashland Mountain Adventures and worth every penny. Both rides are highly recommended if any of you guys ever end up in these areas.

…….And i can't figure out how to do the you tube links.

Look at the URL of the YouTube vid. You want to copy the part after the = but before the & (if there is one). In the case above, it's "nEhveVr4350".

In your DT post, click the [youtoob] button. That will put it a set of [youtoob][/youtoob] tags with your cursor conveniently sitting right in the middle between the ][ brackets. Hit Ctrl-V (or right-click, Paste, or whatever you do to paste on a Mac if that's how you roll). Now it will look like:

[youtoob]nEhveVr4350[/youtoob]

That's it!

(note that I intentionally misspelled youtube as youtoob so the forum software wouldn't try to render the tags)

Definitely not dusty.... Mostly loam and just enough mud to keep you honest. The lower half of banzai got pretty greasy and rooty and the mud wouldn't clear from the tires for a while.

Thanks Chuck. My video posts are few and far between and I can never quite remember how to do it. Thanks for the refresher!
