This week started out (well, with me working but in essence it started on Wednesday for me) by picking up a package then heading to a bike shop...

The package you ask... a box with a frame inside, with stickers, catalogs, grease gun and grease.

It has been a few, hrrmmm, no, it has been several years since Sues last bike build, 2009 in fact, not an exceptionally long amount of time, but definitely time for a refresh.

I could have swapped and slapped it together overnight like I have done numerous times in the past with mine own builds but she deserves that her first ride, the maiden voyage upon her new steed be problem free, "mechanicals" free and maybe if fortunate enough just a couple of shake-down adjustments here or there.

I am normally not a particularly patient person in any facet of my life but with this build, I was semi-patient.

I would have liked to give her the WoW factor for her arrival home from work on Wednesday evening with a bike slapped together looking like its ready to ride but the sacrifice would have resulted in a possible displeasing first ride.

So I spent and took my time to try to do it the right way, bringing parts over from her then current ride to what I hope will be her new favorite...

I must say this, if it wasn't for the generosity and selfless nature of a couple friends this absolutely wouldn't have happened, I would have just added a couple of nice doodads to her current bike and called it good...for now.

Thanks Mitch!!!
Thanks Bob!!!

In no particular order, without their help and thoughtful, selfless acts, this wouldn't have been possible, I am truly appreciative...THANKYOU for helping me make this happen!

I post up a pretty basic ride for today, the usual's (great group!) knew all too well where we intended to go...low and behold theres 11 of us, how exciting. Man I sure hope I didn't screw something up on this build, I don't want Sue to be let down in front front of our peers at least, hee hee...

I guess I got lucky, the new build was without complications, mechanicals, trailside adjustments...it just seemed to work.

We got lucky that our friends were there to join in the maiden voyage of Sues new ride..it was a beautiful day, the company was as usual outstanding, trail conditions fine...it was a great ride, it was awesome to see Sue rolling a new rig and being stoked with it.

Post ride pops were refreshing...

Great ride today everyone, thanks for coming out and thanks to all involved!

Nice bike! It is a sign when you know who was there by the bike only, a good sign.

I just acquired a 09 Blur LT recently and I absolutely love it! My 2012 Reign is not getting any love lately.

The Blur is a great all-around trail bike that is often overlooked in a lineup that includes some newer, flashier bikes. Great choice.

Bike(s): Santa Cruz Blur / Titus ML1
Favorite Trails: There are so many...
I have to tell you…. I really liked my Titus and didn’t think much about getting a new bike… just thought I needed my fork repaired and a new dropper post…. But damn! Seriously.... damn!
This Santa Cruz Blur TR is awesome! The fit is perfect… it's my favorite color and it has just the right amount of gold. But it weighs a little less than the Titus and Pete has the gearing set perfectly! One pedal stroke and I was hooked! I mean… it was: pedal stroke….Swoosh! I had butterflies in my tummy!

I have to thank my hubby for all his research and his patience in setting it up….especially his patience in setting it up! And of course thanks to Mitch and Bob!

It was a fun ride today and once my seat post comes in….hell…it’s going to feel like I have wings! I just may be the fastest one back to the trucks for a frosty beverage!

:hello:
