It was an extremely clear and lovely day in the Gorge yesterday - but gawd was it windy at times...
The tunnels and trestles are a very unique, fun and thrilling experience - however, with the wind, I had to put on my big-boy pants to get across the trestles.
On the way back, a couple of gusts damn-near completely stopped me - I don't recall that experience before... all good though - great ride!
Post-ride grub was at Golden Acorn Casino Grill... don't order the fried chicken - in fact, just drive on by.

Fantastic clear view!

Thinking about it, doesn't help at all...

Lights are a must for the tunnels.

You're right - wish I'd thought of that... even took that exit to get back to my 'hood.

KUSI News is currently running a several part series on the history and possible future of this rail line. Pretty interesting. Here's the first clip I saw last night:

^^^ That was quite interesting - I'll be checking-out the other story segments.
Thanks for posting TB.

btw - I've been out to the RR museum in Campo and taken a ride on the train - lots of fun,
especially for the young'uns. We went on a Feb. day after a little snow in Campo the night before...
It was so fu*%ing coooooold on that train!

Cool it's another local scandal probably involving government officials in the city of San Diego. By the way I can't watch KUSI they have the dumbest anchor ever, Dan Plant.

You have a good point - sort of like, *NOT Classy San Diego*

However, I've spent a little time with the KUSI news team this morning and most of the time
Dan was flanked By Brandi and Leslie... soon, I was not aware of Dan, or anything else in the studio.
hubba, hubba, drool !!

They are OK, but IMO, the Pine House on Mt. Laguna beats them by a mile. Not to mention they have local IPA on tap....

Not to mention Turko, who in my experience treats every bicycle advocacy issue like its some kind of far-left commie rattlesnake.

And then there's Crazy 'Ol John Coleman, their elderly weatherman......semi-shrewd. At best.
