Desperate times call for desperate measures. Because my regular trails weren't fit to ride, I rode my mtb 5 miles to the Mesa trail head, up Mesa to Big Rock, down Big Rock to the road, and home. 10 miles of road riding for 2 miles of trails, but it was a fun change of pace ride. Tough (for me) climbing and tough (for me) descending. Cowles Mountain handles rain really well. The trail had no ponded water or mud, but the rocks and wood water bars were kind of dicey.

Took a coworker friend up Otay Mountain today. Weather was great, was able to get up and back down before the rains started up again. I curse at myself every time I go there, but only place close to home that you can ride on a rainy weekend. Saw a few other riders as well as a running group already headed back down when we got about half way up.

Some trails drain off better then others.
Use your better judgement and don't go crazy for now.

I know your gona think I'm crazy; but Hodges sheds rain really well. I know, I know, your thinking that place is soo hairy even when it's dry. No way any sane person would ride that place wet. But trust me, that place will be ready for you to get your gnar on by this afternoon. Remember to bring your full face,... and your Panda.

Last night, the trails in Florida canyon had drained and dried pretty well.

I'm pretty sure that this afternoon they will be just about right.
