Yesterday jjthewhale and I ventured up to San Juan Trail to climb and descend it. It was a great day on the trail and made me realize I need to do more sustained climbing rides. There are a couple of changes to the trail from the last time I was there that I wanted to report: 1. The narrow section past the saddle where the trail transitions from the switchbacks to the south facing valley has a blow out; however it is rideable; 2. there are several deep trenches that have developed on the middle fast section which can grab your pedal if not careful. Best to stay on the high side. The usual wildlife was encountered, sweaty cougars, old guys hanging out at the rock, and packs of knuckleheads.

Post-ride food at Los Golondrinas was excellent. That is all.
