Considered a few locations to spend our Thanksgiving week vacation, but decided to explore some of the mountain biking trails in South Western Utah. Very Nice!

Day 1:

GF first time on slick rock, she made the turn.

I love it:

Had dinner at Basilas Greek ( and Italian!? ) food in St. George. Good salads, french fries, hummus, and chicken, but my 2 gyros were just ok.

Day 2:

Added a couple bonus trails to get my $$$'s worth.

Dinner at someplace advertising Bison Burgers:

Day 3:

Almost ate it goofing off on this interesting cattle guard near the upper trailhead:

Seemed big at the time...

Day 4:
Rain in the forecast, so we woke up at 6 am and rode a few hours not far from the motel prior to the rain storm.

Cafe Rio for dinner. Got the burrito with "hot" red sauce...very good, but not much spice.

Day 5:
Rainy. So we went hiking.

Made Thanksgiving Dinner in the microwave. It was pretty good.

Day 6:
Drive home. No traffic issues, some slowing in Vegas.

Day 7:
Recover.

Day 8:
Rode Nobel Canyon ( local trail ). Windy as hell riding up the fire road. Didn't see a single person on my loop around Laguna meadow. Nobel Canyon trail in excellent condition. Even the slog up extra credit was not too sandy.

The end.

Wow, looks like you had an awesome Thanksgiving. Thanks for the report.

How do you like that Lefty fork? Those things always trip me out when I see them...

406...Excellent TR. I like the picture graffiti descriptions. I did a similar trip in the middle of October: The Goose on Friday, Thunder Mountain on Saturday and The Hurricane Rim Trail on Sunday. What other trails did you get in? Thunder Mountain is a wonderful trail, but gets done way too quickly when you consider the drive from Springdale and the climb to the top. Goose was very unique in the mental focus it required at all times on the trail. I loved the Hurricane Rim and the ripping descent across the desert on JEM. I think we need a Treaders trip to Springdale in the spring!

-CHEERS  (to Southwest Utah mountain biking!)

Yeah odd to look down at at first, but seems to work well for me.
