Went up to San Juan today. I had never ridden the trail before and was excited to go. The trail is amazing. I loved every part of it and was really surprised by the quality of the ride. It has a bit of everything. Woods, check. Technical climbing and descending, check. Swtichbacks, check. Beautiful scenery, check. Exposure, checkity check. I will go ahead and say that whenever anyone wants to ride this trail, I am down. The climb up is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. We started at the bottom and made our way to Cocktail Rock, then descended(sorta), then made our way to Bluejay Campground, then back around to Cocktail Rock[the climb back up to Cocktail Rock kicks serious ass, (read)very technical climbing], then we descended back to which we came. Did I already say that this was a great ride, well I'll say it again. Totals for the ride were: 21 miles with 3983 feet of climbing. Enjoy the pics:

Sweet....probably my favorite trail. If I was not laid up with a bum knee I would be down.
Now do it single

I was going to do it on the SS today, but I un-trued the front wheel on my 29'er yesterday(if you know what I mean).

Pretty much the same exact route Evdog, Sladnas, and I took on Sat. We took Old San Juan at Cocktail rock up to Blue Jay, then took new SJT back. We tried finding Viejo Tie Trail off the top part of Chiquito, but we couldn't find it so we jumped back on SJT.
