Ok, not really a Tale, just some stats.

Saturday (Harley's Birthday Ride)
Mt Laguna, very nice scenic ride with 15 people, we covered 13.74 miles and climbed 1143 feet over the course of the ride, with our Max elevation being 6084 feet. This ride covered nearly 3:30 hours on the trail (Including many chapter reviews), and because I have it, we were wheels rolling for 1:47.

Sunday
Calaveras, everyone knows what that's like. I started by myself from Sky Haven, did the normal climb to the pad where I hooked up with Fred, another Matt, and Fred's friend with the Dreads (don't recall his name) I joked that we'd probably do the same amount of climbing at Calaveras as we had done at Mt Laguna with Fred leading! Skylar and Luke joined up with a bit later, so we had a good group of 6 for most of the ride. We all split up once we hit the pad again, but I covered 9.18 miles, climbed 844 feet, with a Max elevation of 442 feet. This ride covered 2:10 hours on trail. Not so many stops happened today. And this ride was wheels rolling for 1:18.

With review of the numbers I was 13 feet short of doing 2000 ft of climbing this weekend.

All in all I'd say it was a good weekend! Now to relax and enjoy the rest of it.

Love the wheels rolling vs. total time stat on the birthday ride! A lot of folks hadn't seen each other in a while, so a lot of social catching up, rock & wood sessioning, as well as actual catching up by us slow guys to keep the fifteen person Slinky together. Thanks Matt.

Did you guys stop at Pine House for some of their IPA?
One of the few places you can drink beer like that at 6,000 ft. elevation!

I don't think any of us did. We consumed lunch and a bunch of IPA tailgating at the Roost, and folks headed home. Two of us camped and continued drinking out if our ice chests...Thanks for mentioning the Pine House. It is good to know they have decent beer. I haven't been in there since it reopened a few years ago. I also noticed that there is a relatively new (maybe a few years also) sporting goods store. I will stop in next time and see what they stock. It would be good to know if they have any bike stuff.
