On Saturday I loaded up the bikes and headed north to the San Juan Trail, for the first time. I have to say it was amazing ride! The dirt was perfect after a bit of rain and the cool temperature made it one of my favorite rides in the past 2 years. We rode from the bottom trail head on Hot Spring Canyon Rd to Cocktail Rock, stopped for a snack and bombed down. A bit of a hike a bike in a few sections near the top and maybe some dabbing in some of the harder switchbacks but overall a great ride. There were lots of riders on the trail but we all seemed to be going up and no traffic issues. I only passed one biker on the way up and maybe 6 on the way down. I wish this trail was closer to home! Next time I'll ride it all the way to Blue Jay but I was under time constraints. Here are some pics. Enjoy!
