I just got home from a hot lap around the North End of Sycamore Canyon. My camera batteries are dead so no photos, but believe me the dirt is freaking awesome out there, tomorrow should be great. BTW I poached Calle De Rob this afternoon. Signage I can't read no stink'n signage. Just a little bit of mud on the trail up top and the moto track was rideable. I was going to ride home via the Farmers Market Trail but it's so overgrown, and I haven't ridden that trail from that direction in a while, so I couldn't find the trailhead. So I took the rutted out fire road that dumps you back by the houses at the bottom of Calle de Rob. The trail is still pretty clearly signed as closed, so if ya get busted by the Ranger, you will have no plausible deniability. But for me, I'd rather die on my feet, than live on my knees.
I broke the cable on my Crank Brothers Joplin seat post this afternoon, some how the barrel of the cable, the part that is inside the thumb lever; it must have mushroomed in there because it won't come out, and I can't put a new cable in until the head of the old one is out. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Have I ever told you you're my hero?

I'll be the guy who rides the trails; you can be the guy who rides the trails and gets a ticket -- that works just fine for me. Send me your full name in a pm and I'll even let you get my tickets.

Thanks you guys. This is pretty funny. That video clip has me thinking that the next DT Debauchery should bring out a karaoke kit for the drunks instead of a soccer ball.

Thanks for the 'hero dirt' report. I've been getting conflicting numbers regarding rainfall totals, and it totally screws up my dirt-o-meter calculations.
Based upon your report, I'll hit Hodges in the late AM and it should be fine. I'd hit the Laguna mtns....but there's the drive, and the predicted HIGH temp up there tomorrow of 41 degrees!

This is SOCAL, fer crisskaes!

Rode the new ridge line from sycamore parking lot north down into beeper canyon then west on Friday during lunch. Perfect.

BTW, it was 42deg up in cuyamaca today. Drove the family to Julian today. Saw a bunch of deer. Close to 30 and a bunch of turkey.

I opted for a 6.5 mile hike today, over the Fortunas in MTRP. On the South peak it didn't look like it rained at all.

Then I went down to South Mission and played some beach volleyball.

It *IS* SOCAL fer crissakes!
