I am taking a trip to Kauai early Dec. and want to do some riding. I got a little info but I'd like to hear from some folks who have ridden there. Is there anybody out there?

hey dave. congratulations on going to kauai, prolly the most beautiful island there is. we went there a few years ago and I did some riding in waimea canyon that was great. i also rode kalepa ridge on the east side. stay clear of the growers. there are home (native hawaiian) trails on the east side which are coastal and worth it. there is a trail called powerline that bisects the north to the west. most of the hilly trails are wet red clay and roots, you'll get your slide technique down.

you have to hike the na pali coast from the north side, awesome. the best hike i've done, hands down. yeah, i thought about riding it... heh.

take a heli into the island middle, which is the lost world for real.

have fun and take pictures.
