Buried in the recent 700B bailout was a provision allowing people who commute to work by bike "regularly" to be eligible for a $20-a-month, tax-free reimbursement from their employers. The money is to be used for tune-ups, maintenance, components, etc. Go talk to your employer and get them to pay you $20/month to bike to work, even if it is occasional. My boss is the one who showed me this, so he is already on board!
