For me, around 25 miles, yup, it's not that much but I've never had the opportunity to do a truly "epic" ride.

30+ but there has being shorter rides that had being harder, like Gooseberry Mesa, was only about 14 miles but I was not ready for the technical demands of that trail, I think it depends of where you are riding.

I did 152 miles on a road bike in Michigan (yes Michigan) in 2006 at the 24 hour national championships. That was not for 24 hours, only about 10. My ass hurt and my feet were swollen so I grabbaed some shade and then a beer. Then I didn't want to ride anymore.

To put it in perspective my father in law who is like 65 and who got me roped into that madness did 270 miles last year, same event.

On the mountain bike, I'd say 30 or so miles at Toro Peak/Santa Rosa Mountain trails.

Maybe this thread will lead into a palm Canyon epic ride this winter? I think it's 24 or so miles, one way. Anybody that can lead this adventure?

Well on the road I've done the 50 miles Rosarito-Ensenada ride a few times but on a mountain bike for safety reason since I didn't want to be seen down there on a road bike

700 miles in 6 days - Tour Of the Future

Was 5 days of 110-120 mile stages and 1 day of Individual(AM) and Team(PM) time trials. I had a fever from jr nationals the week before, and literally rode it out of my system in 48 hrs, listening to LOL,,, Queensryche,,,,,,,,,,,Yup. The race was based in Bisbee AZ, where apparently all the girls have mono!LOL. 180 kids in the pack and 100 degrees w/ rain and thunderstorms. Absolutely one of my fondest memories.

When I was 18, my buddy and i traded in our bmx bikes and bought touring bikes to do a few of those MS150 charity rides. I even wore spandex for a few years! So one day my buddy wasnt around but there was a ride called the Princeton Freewheelers Tour (not a race) which had several courses...a 25, 50, 65, 100 flat and 100 hilly. I decided to do the 50 or 65 and I would decide by how I felt after 20 miles or so since the turnoffs were kind of grouped. Anyhow, I ask this guy riding next to me if he was going to do the 50 or 65 and he tells me the turnoff for those two was 5 miles back and I was currently on the 100 flat. I was about to turn around when he and his buddies convinced me that just because I was 18 and not old like them, I better be able to do it, and I can ride with them. We averaged about 17mph and took a lot of breaks, but I did it. But true propers to jj the whale. :bang:
