So Today I headed out on some local(RI) trails for a quick ride before picking up my son. Pulled into the parking lot and noticed something I've never seen in 15yrs of ridign said spot...a pickup truck w a horse trailer...hmmm...so I'm unloading my bike and I catch "wind" of a foul stench. I look next to the trailer and there's a huge pile of shit!!! I'm heading out on trail and Poop factory riders are getting back to their truck. I figured since the pile-o-stink was next to the trailer, they'd be cool and pick it up. (HAHAHAHAAA...dreaming) So I head out down a ripping trail and spend 20mins on a quick, flowy...loose (MX...another story) trail. I climb back up top to the car to grab a drink and head down one of my favorite trails. I look at the horse people and say "hi" and try to avoid the pile of shit at the trail head and the cigarette smoke. The say "hi" and I hear a laugh as I head down the trail (no I don't wear lycra!!) SO EVERY FIVE MTHRFKN FEET THERE'S A PILE OF SHIT!!!!! for about 100 ft. I so wanted to turn around and say something but being alone, I figured I'd just keep riding. To top it off, when I finally got back to the car, two girls were getting out of their car w two dogs...one dog proceeded to roll around in the original pile. thank goodness there's a pond nearby.
So the next time I see said PU truck w trailer I may just have a piss on the tires. I'm tired of MTb'rs loosing trails to hikers and horses . I don't shit on the trails!!!

I want to share trails w other users and not have to clean SHIT off my bike, hands, gloves, shirts, jersey, etc, etc...I dismount if I see or hear horses coming for the safety of the rider....I wish these riders were as considerate to other trail users. Thanks for reading.

respond..don't respond...just needed to vent.

How many times I've pondered gathering all the shit left behind and dropping it off at their door step. Once the owners come out with looks of disgust as I've left this monstrosity on their property simply reply "it's organic and good for the environment, figured you'd want to keep it close"

I'm sure no horse are rolling around in dog poop trying to disguise their smell.

Amen, brutha. Most horse riders are nice, but that shit trail they leave, and the post holes, suck. As someone smart once said, the only constant is change
