Sorry for the dumb question, but how often do you change the oil in your front shock? I feel like I should do it with my Reba soon...

i'm not a suspension guru, but i play one on tv...

go here: http://www.sram.com/en/service/rockshox ... subcatID=8

there should be a maintenance schedule in there. my tora said something ridiculous (cousin larry) like 100 miles. i'm pretty sure it isn't necessary that often.

maybe when you first get a fork. probably twice a year or so after that. It depends on where and how much you ride.
it's not that hard and you really feel the difference. you can get fork oil at a motorcycle shop for less cash too.

It's a fork not a shock!!! :)

Depends, as often as you feel necessary I'd say. If it starts performing suboptimally check your seals and oil level.

I'm not a guru, and don't even play one on TV...but the Reba is primarily an air shock, so maybe not as critical? The manual (I have a Reba) says change oil every 50 hours (numbers are hours not miles), but I think you could go longer as long as it performs well and isn't leaking.

This is a good question. As everyone above noted, the schedule in the manual is pretty frequent, probably unnecessarily so. I think I'm going to change oil in the lowers every few months and the uppers once a season. But I don't log that many miles.

When you feel performance is starting to go down. Plus when its freshened up it always feels better.
