If anyone rides Mission Trails West, the trails from Clairemont Mesa are closed.

Not very happy about this. We have a great loop that includes most of the trails that are closed. Anyway, not being able to access MTRP from the Clairemont side sucks. Thanks for posting this info.

It does suck, but I would like to comment that I happened to attend a couple of SDMBA meetings several months ago where they met with a SDWCA rep and did their best (considering zero leverage) to keep access.

Holy smokes it says in the brochure completition should be done by 2011, hopefully the area they're doing at MT goes by quickly.

This place is so fun to ride at night, I guess have to do Cowles Mtn at night in the meantime, that should be a blast going down at night.

that side is open, there is a cool route going north under the 52 and then up the canyon, then up again in a sub-canyon to the top of the ridegline. Sweet switchback down the other side, but alot of hike a bike after that. I have explored but im sure others know much more than me. havent gone back since discovering LPQ.

You can still reach the West side of MTRP from there. The fastest way is via the fire road heading West--Go up and over the Saddle between South and North Fortuna.
