If is near the creek, I would assume it could be possibly a cross marker for the tragic incident that occurred on one rainy night years ago in the early 1990's. I recall from the news story back then, a car full of migrant women try to cross sunny creek that happen to be running swiftly and too deep to pass in an older sedan. The water fill the car quickly and none of them were able to escape. By the time CFD were able to extricate them out, it was too late, all drown.

I remember that, and it makes sense, but it is not near the creek. I used google earth once to figure out when that house burned down, but I don’t remember the date. It was much more recent than I expected — so not impossible they’re related.
