I have been riding in the white mountains for a few days and I came a pond a large network of trails with bones hanging in the trees. I guess I will be mapping them in my mind for a while. They are not on the internet and I am afraid to get close to anyone so hard. This picture has a bone in the upper left.

Based on those trees, I'm going to guess that's not the infamous White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Based on those trees, I'm going to guess that's not the infamous White Mountains of New Hampshire.[/The name and similar ones such as "White Hills" or "Wine Hills" are found in literature from Colonial times. According to tradition, the mountains were first sighted from shipboard off the coast near the Piscataqua estuary. The highest peaks would often be snow-capped, appearing white.

The White Mountains of Arizona is a mountain range and mountainous region in the eastern part of the state, near the border with New Mexico; it is a continuation from the west of the Arizona transition zone–Mogollon Rim, with the Rim ending in western New Mexico.
Elevation 11,420

Bike(s): Yes
Favorite Trails: crooked & winding...
Also not the White Mountains of California, which are pretty cool too, like all the places with that name probably are.

My daughter wanted to go on a longer ride yesterday. I loaded her and the oldest up and off we went. We parked at the Cold Creek turnoff and then rode up and over to Stonewall Fire road and up to the meadow then back.

Finished the whole thing off with burgers and ice cream in Descanso!

On a State Park note, there was a sign up that said the park was closed to vehicle traffic, but none of the cars had notes or tickets.

As we were leaving the Cuyamaca park I did see cars parked in the no parking gravel pull offs that did have tickets on them. So the rangers are enforcing the gravel no parking areas.
