Crazy... both Italy and Spain have banned recreational cycling due to COVID-19. Reasons are:
- If you get hurt you will put more strain on a medical system which cannot handle it
- You would expose yourself to the virus or spread it around
- Exercise can temporarily weaken our immune system (although I would think that sitting on the couch and being depressed also weakens your immune system)

Let's hope it doesn't get that bad here.

That does seems crazy. I would think being healthy and getting exercise is a good thing. Then again, I did stop going to 24 Hour Fitness last week until this is over....but I'll keep riding.

All the arguments are valid except for the "exercise can temporarily weaken your immune system" one. That is bullsh!t. If we stay active there are SO many benefits that outweigh sitting around on our butts. Plus, there's no sports to watch, so F-it, get outside.

The only way a ride could actually lower you immunity is if the ride totally exhausted you: bonked you out, and you don't recover by the next day. Then, yes, your immune response is inhibited. Much more so when you smoke the tobaccy, though.
That kicks yer immune big-time.
