We did the SART Hell Ride today, riding from South Fork back down Redlands. 37 miles and 7000’ of descent, 2700’ of climbing. Weather was high 50’s at South Fork and low 70’s in Redlands. We usually ride Heart Bar down to Angelus Oaks so this was a first for us. Amazingly fun overall. If they could build some singletrack to avoid having to ride several miles of forest service road, I’d go so far to say it’s better than Palm Canyon. I definitely had more FUN. We had 10 guys and surprisingly zero mechanicals and zero crashes of any sort.

Tons of water out there, most I’ve ever seen and it altered the trail pretty massively down at the bottom below Glass Rd.

Most importantly for many on this board, the ride ends up back at the Hangar 24 Brewery in Redlands.

Crazy Bear Bikes runs the shuttle and just as long as you can get a minimum of 6 riders, you can pick your day....$30 per rider. The route is on both Trailforks and MTB Project. There is also a Free app, Hell Ride 2018, that you can download to your iPhone. Route was simple to follow. It took us 4.5 hours of ride time.

Man, that ride sounds great. Do you have a GPS route or sumthing like it so I can check out your route?

What was the total time for the ride?

It took us 4.5 hours to ride...we stopped at the restaurant/store (which is back open) in Angelus Oaks for about 20 minutes as well.

Crazy Bear already has SART runs planned for the 8th & 9th of June. The 8th has 11 seats left and the 9th has 6th seats left. You can also set up your own day just as long as you book at least (6) riders. I'd suggest you go sooner rather than later because the flies were a PITA every time we stopped to re-group on the trail. No flies in Angelus Oaks at the restaurant/store. They are only going to get worse as it gets hotter.

Keep in mind you need to make sure they know you want to be picked up at the brewery if that's your choice. Otherwise, they pick up at the Mill Creek Ranger Station on Hwy 38.
